I recently had the most horrible time finding an apartment. I had been broken into and broke my lease and needed a place desperately. I filled out applications at four or five places( ranging from rent-to-own, for lease, apartments and townhomes). I was denied everywhere i went and was running out of money fast. I became acquainted with Ritchie and told him my situation and asked if he could help me, he said that it would be difficult but he would do his best. Being new to this wonderful state of Texas, my son and his soon to arrive family needed an apartment that was not only very reasonable, as they are just starting their future, but a nice safe place to live, Within a couple of hours, Ritchie had emailed about ten different options. I recently got a job in the Woodlands and started looking for apartments nearby so that I wound no longer have to commute from Tomball. At first I was looking on my own through craigslist and with walk-ins. The problem I was constantly running into was the fact that I have a 45lb mutt. He looks like a miniature german shepard which was causing problems because those are an “aggressive” breed…which is ridiculous to begin with. “Realtor was quick to respond to my emails and was prompt when meeting at houses. Realtor was able to meet me a couple times on short notice which was helpful due to my schedule. During my search the market was not a renters market, so prices and inventory favored those that own and rent the properties. This made it a bit difficult to find what I was looking for at a price I thought was fair. Not knowing Houston or the areas I was looking at slowed down the process, but this was not a fault of the Realtor. After getting a better grasp of what neighborhoods had to offer, I changed my mind on a couple properties. The Realtor did not get frustrated or become unprofessional with me. My search inevitably went outside of the Realtor’s knowledge area but he was upfront about not knowing much about a specific neighborhood. If you are not from Houston my best advice is to drive around areas that you are interested in and check out the neighborhoods before setting up appointments to view houses. That will save you a lot of time and you can delete neighborhoods or areas off of your list. Overall the Realtor I worked with was helpful, professional and I would recommend his services to others.”
